All Time Great American Pilots
This class has three components:
- Lesson Plan
- Slide Deck
- Speaker Notes
Beginning with experimental gliders and balloons in the late 19th century to the present day, America has a unique place in the growth of aviation. Early pioneers like the Wright Brothers, Charles Lindbergh, and Amelia Earhart led the rapid growth of American aviation. During World War I and World War II our military pilots took aviation to the next level, making America’s Air Force the greatest of all time. During this class we will learn about our finest pilots: Eddie Rickenbacker, Jimmy Doolittle, Pappy Boyington, Chuck Yeager, etc., and we will examine our quest to use technology to design fast and safe aircraft that can even venture into the deepest of space.
